I was born out on a farm in Danville, IN, but moved to Zionsville, IN early in my childhood. I grew up raising semi-exotic animals (llamas, rheas, emus, pygmy goats, etc.) and proud of being a 10-year 4-H participant. Attended DePauw University and received my degree in economics. I started out with a 7-year career in commercial real estate, before going to work in the financial sector with Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, and JP Morgan’s Private Bank. After burning out of the financial sector in 2014 I went and pursued a few IoT startups for a few years before caving to the internal pull to get back in the financial sector. My role with GJIG is focused on operations and implementing technology. With 17+ years in the financial sector along and startup executive leadership, I’ve been on the side of our clients, needing business and personal insurance. This experience gives me the commonality to our clients and understanding of the level of service, education, and protection I wanted and can now help deliver that to our clients. I love to bring on a new client (the process from prospect to client) and saving people money when I know it is significant to their lives – along with exceeding their expectations on service and our different approach in a commoditized business. Our goal starting out was to take the high level of professional services offered in the financial industry and bring it to the relatively boring and overcrowded P&C industry.
Personally, I enjoy spending free time with my 3 kids, golfing, and working to grow our companies (I’m also Managing Partner for our sister company, GJ Financial Group). Some fun facts about me: Love cars – all types. Classics, muscle, exotics, you name it – I love them all. A new passion I picked up during COVID lockdown was learning DJing skills and the art of mixing music.
